Obesity prevalence has increased dramatically over the past 40 years. Since 1980, the prevalence of obesity has doubled in more than 70 countries (GBD 2015 Obesity Collaborators et al., 2017).
Increasing physical activity reduces the risk of death more effectively than losing weight. Hence, the conclusion: you need not count the kilograms, but focus on training. The fight against obesity and being overweight has had the wrong goal all along.
