A longevity expert shares the diet, exercise and sleep rules he lives by for a longer, stronger life

According to a CDC report, life expectancy in the U.S. dropped one full year during the first half of 2020. Prior to Covid, however, life expectancy in the U.S. was 78.8 years in 2019, up a tenth of a year over 2018.


Longevity researcher Sergey Young shares the rules which he lives by for a longer life:

  1. The first rule is to get regular checkups or at the very least to have a complete annual physical exam.

  2. The second rule is to let food be thy medicine. In particular he recommends eating more plants, avoiding processed food, drinking more water and including healthy fats in your diet.

  3. The third rule is to exercise more, even a short walk contributes to one's health.

  4. The next rule is to eat early, and less often, in other words, try practicing intermittent fasting. Needless to say, you should quit bad habits.

  5. Finally, make sure you get enough sleep. Sergey recommends resting in a dark room without electronic devices for at least 7 hours.
